Showered with Books

Baby Charlotte is due to arrive sometime between now and February 1st! Some of my close friends threw me a baby shower this past weekend and the theme was books.u

Throwing a baby shower for baby number 2 can be a difficult task. Especially if the baby is going to be the same gender. The amount of stuff you need the second time around is very minimal...but everyone loves a good party right?

To solve this dilemma, my amazing creative friends made the theme of the shower books. While you could bring a different gift if you wanted, the idea was for each guest to bring a book (or books) for the new baby. It was SUCH a great idea and so much fun!

Here are some pictures from the special day...

Every food item corresponded with the name of a children's book. For example-the cookies went with the book "Give A Mouse A Cookie". The same for the cupcakes, punch, donuts, hot chocolate bar, and soup.

Rather than playing a game, each lady used a sharpie to write a "note" on the diapers. After I got home I read a few... "This side up!" "Surprise!" and "This one is for dad", just to name a few... Such a cute idea!

The main course was two different soups to choose from and "Little Red Hen" rolls.

The favors were beautiful bookmarks.

Also, each invitation included an adorable small piece of paper for the ladies to place inside the book they purchased. This gave them the opportunity to explain to Charlotte why she will love this book :)

I was blown away by the creativity and thoughtfulness of my friends. It was such a beautiful shower and such a wonderful idea!
