DIY Wall Art...

So, Thursday night, Lilly came down with a stomach bug. The poor thing was throwing up every ten minutes from 6:00-8:30 when she passed out. She slept with us and threw up a few times during the night and the next day. On Friday night...around 9:00 I started...and approximately three hours later...John caught it as well. Needless to say, it's been a long, exhausting weekend but we've made it through and are ready to start a new week.

While Lilly was recovering on Friday (laying on my bed drinking water and watching PBS) I painted our bedroom.

I used Behr Premium (paint and primer) which I'd never done before and it was well worth the extra $5! I painted our entire room in one coat and was covering a very DARK yellow wall. It only took 1/2 a gallon!

Here is a picture of the curtains against the freshly painted walls.

The paint color I chose is "Classic Taupe" By Behr.

So: the walls are painted, the curtains up, two accent pillows completed, and I purchased some new coral sheets as well. The things left on my to-do list:

  • Purchase a white comforter and blue throw
  • Create some wall art
  • I have some canvases that I bought on Black Friday from Michael's and wanted to use them to make some wall art. I was perusing Pinterest and found some great ideas:
Old paint + canvas + foam brush = add to the never ending to do list

I like this one especially because it it the colors in my room already..and very modern looking

I like how simple this one looks...like maybe even I could do it!

This is gorgeous! I wonder how difficult it would be?

So, I hope you've been inspired...and more importantly are able to tell me which one you would choose for my room...
