Up-Cycle: Broken Camisole to Baby Girl Leggings

So, I go through Camisoles like  nobodies business. I wear them with everything and because of that, I wear them out rather quickly. While pulling the laundry out of the dryer last week I noticed that the strap on my white camisole had broken. (Never Fear though! Knowing that this could one day happen I already had an identical white camisole in my drawer...)

**Side Note: I buy all my camisoles from Aeropostale. They are amazing.

I was about to toss it in the trash but then thought, maybe I could make Lilly some leggings out of it. The camisole has a strip of lace at the bottom and I thought that would be a cute way to dress up otherwise boring knit leggings. The material is also extremely stretchy, which can be hard to find in knit material from the fabric store. Here is a previous leggings post I did and a link to a great step by step tutorial that I like to use.

Here's my broken camisole that I started with:

I traced a pair of leggings that Lilly already had and added a seam allowance of about 1/2 an inch. Below are the two pieces that I traced, after cutting them out

I love how they turned out...Lilly loves them too...so much that she wouldn't sit still for a photo, oh well.

I just love the lace at the bottom...and that fact that they were free!

What do you think?
